Firefighters extinguish blaze west of Yamhill

YAMHILL — More than 30 firefighters fought a 7.2 acre blaze in the hills west of town this afternoon.

The fire broke out about 12:45 p.m. in a grassy area at 17510 Belt Road.Firefighters from Yamhill, Carlton, McMinnville, Newberg, Dundee and the Oregon Department of Forestry battled the blaze ffor two hours. It was being mopped up by 3 p.m.

The cause remains under investigation.
