Meet Mr. Hayes
Hugh J. Hayes was a mapmaker, illustrator and draftsman who spent most of his life in Oregon. Before and after World War II, Hayes worked at the Oregon State Department of Forestry in Salem and played a large role in creating the fire protection maps, safety illustrations and the wildfire prevention messages for the Keep Oregon Green Association.
